Joining Galway for Club for 2013
The cost of annual membership for Galway Triathlon Club is €60. Membership runs from January to December of each year.
This year we’ve made it easier to join, you now join up with Triathlon Ireland (TI) and GTC in one step on the Triathlon Ireland website. Even if you do not plan on doing any races you MUST join the club and have TI membership for insurance reasons to be covered at training sessions.
The cost of Triathlon Ireland membership depends on what type of membership you select, there are four options available:
- Associate membership – €15 (+ €3 for processing & transaction fees) – This covers you to train with GTC but you will be required to purchase a One Day License (ODL) to race any TI sanctioned races. The cost of a ODL is € 15
- Full membership – €50 (+ €3 for processing & transaction fees) – This covers you to train with the club and covers you for all TI sanctioned races.
- Student membership –€15 (+ €3 for processing & transaction fees) –

Steps for New members to join up
To join up with TI go to the membership page of Triathlon Ireland and fill out the form.
And to join up with GTC fill out the Club Membership section at the end of the form
- For “ Pay club membership ” select Galway TC
- For “ Membership type ” select Full Club Membership
Note! It says this step is optional, but the club’s method of payment this year is through TI, so you need to fill out this section and pay club membership online.
Steps for Existing members to renew membership
Login to TI with your existing account and click on renew.
At the end of the form in the club membership section:
- Select “ Galway TC “,
- Select “Yes” to pay club membership,
- Select “Full club membership “.

Student membership and Unemployed person Membership
GTC offers a reduced membership rate of €30 to students and unemployed people. To avail of this, please fill out the following membership form GTC – Student & UEP application form 2013 , include the fee, copy of 2013 TI license and additional documentation listed then post to

Please note that only students and Unemployed persons may use this method of joining the club and it must be posted. It is not possible to give membership to a committee member .
Joining the Club comes with many benefits:
- You are covered by insurance for all organised training events within the club.
- You can attend all GTC training events.
- Swimming lessons/ Tri specific spin sessions and dedicated track sessions are available to all members.
- You get the support and company of all the other members.
